Khagaria: A special train will run for the first time from Mansi Junction in Bihar’s Khagaria district to Delhi, beginning September 20, to cater to the festive rush during Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath. The New Delhi–Mansi special (04454/04453) will run daily from Delhi until November 30, while services from Mansi will operate from September 22 to December 1.
The new link is expected to benefit not only residents of Khagaria but also passengers from Begusarai, Munger and neighbouring districts. Migrant labourers travelling for work to Delhi and Uttar Pradesh are set to gain significantly, as the service will ease long-standing travel difficulties.
Local officials and residents believe the train could also boost tourism and trade, particularly at religious sites such as Khagaria’s Shaktipeeth Katyayani Sthan. The move comes as part of the railway’s broader initiative to introduce special trains during the festive season, making journeys for millions of passengers more convenient.
