Patna: Police in Patna have arrested a man accused of shooting a youth during a violent confrontation linked to a love triangle.

The accused, identified as Abhishek Anand, allegedly shot Gautam on August 29 in the Ramakrishna Nagar area after becoming enraged over his girlfriend’s continued contact with her ex-boyfriend. According to police, Gautam and the woman had been in a relationship for years, while Abhishek was also involved with her, leading to tensions.

On the day of the incident, Gautam reportedly called Abhishek and confronted him in front of the girlfriend, which escalated into a heated dispute. After leaving with the woman, Abhishek is said to have returned armed with a pistol and shot Gautam in the neck before fleeing.

The injured youth is undergoing treatment in Patna. Police later arrested Abhishek from Arwal and recovered the pistol, bullets, and the bike used in the crime. Officials said his associates remain at large, and searches are ongoing.
