Patna: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has stepped up its preparations for the 2025 Bihar assembly elections, with a high-level meeting scheduled on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Union home minister Amit Shah.
Senior BJP leaders from Bihar, party office-bearers and ministers representing the state in the Union cabinet are expected to attend. Among those present will be the two deputy chief ministers, Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha, state president Dilip Jaiswal, state in-charge Vinod Tawde and co-in-charge Deepak Prakash. Union ministers Giriraj Singh, Nityanand Rai, Satish Chandra Dubey and Rajbhushan Chaudhary will also join the discussions.
Party sources said the meeting will focus entirely on electoral strategy, including which issues to highlight during the campaign, how to strengthen the NDA’s outreach in assembly constituencies, and coordination with allies. Shah is expected to take feedback from Bihar leaders on local challenges and provide direction for the campaign.
The BJP leadership is also expected to review the impact of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s recent Voter Adhikar Yatra, and draw up a counter-strategy. Other topics on the agenda include the political activities of strategist Prashant Kishor, preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Bihar, and how to leverage remarks made against Modi’s mother as part of a wider campaign narrative.
