Patna: Bapu Tower in Patna has launched its first-ever internship programme aimed at promoting the social, political and economic contributions of Mahatma Gandhi. The initiative has attracted significant interest, with 317 candidates submitting applications for full-time positions.
The programme will select six interns through an interview process. Four positions are reserved for candidates specialising in subjects related to Gandhi, one for design, visual arts or fine arts, and one for journalism or mass communication.
A committee at Bapu Tower is currently scrutinising the applications, with the process expected to conclude by next week. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews, with notifications published on the official Bapu Tower and Building Construction Department websites, as well as communicated via email.
The three-month full-time internship, which may be extended depending on requirements, offers a monthly stipend of Rs 15,000. Interns will be tasked with activities including research, surveys, gallery management, outreach programmes, artificial intelligence design, and content development.
The Bapu Tower Museum, a prominent heritage site in Patna, aims to educate future generations on Gandhiji’s principles of truth, non-violence, and social harmony. Exhibits highlight his life, ideology, and struggles, while encouraging visitors to reflect on his seven social sins and imbibe the values exemplified by the Father of the Nation.
