Patna: In a landmark announcement on Teachers’ Day, Bihar’s Education Minister Sunil Kumar revealed that more than 26,000 teachers will soon be reinstated across the state, a move aimed at strengthening the education system and enhancing the quality of learning for children.
The announcement was made during a state-level celebration held at Sri Krishna Memorial Hall, Patna, where 72 outstanding educators were honoured with the State Teacher Award 2025. Each awardee received a citation, a shawl, and a memento from the minister. “Teachers are the backbone of society. Their role in shaping the minds of future generations is invaluable,” Kumar said.
Highlighting the broader significance of the awards, Kumar added, “This recognition is not only for the 72 exemplary teachers here today but for all those who dedicate themselves to guiding and shaping the future of our children.”
The Education Minister emphasised that the government’s ongoing efforts to improve the sector include the introduction of smart classrooms, digital learning tools, and enhanced educational resources. The reinstatement of over 26,000 teachers is expected to address staff shortages in schools and provide students with better opportunities for learning.
A large gathering of teachers, students, and educationists attended the function, which was marked by applause and celebrations as the awardees were called to the stage. Kumar urged educators to embrace new technologies and equip children with the skills required to meet the challenges of a competitive future.
