Biharsharif: Nalanda’s power infrastructure is set for a major boost after the district administration approved the permanent transfer of land to the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) for the construction of a 33/11 KV power substation.
The facility will be built on 50 decimals of land in Mauja Nanand under Silav zone, according to an order issued by the district magistrate. The decision followed a joint recommendation by the circle officer, land reforms sub-collector and sub-divisional officer of Rajgir.
The move comes in response to a formal request from SBPDCL, which argued that an additional substation was essential to meet rising demand and reduce frequent outages. Local officials inspected the proposed plot and confirmed that it satisfied all requirements, leading to its final clearance.
Authorities said the new substation would not only strengthen the existing electricity network but also future-proof it against surging demand. Officials added that the improved power supply would benefit households, reduce cuts, and provide a much-needed boost to commercial and industrial activities in the area.
