Patna: Passengers at Patna airport will soon have access to a wide range of food and retail outlets as the Airports Authority of India prepares to open 40 ventures ahead of Chhath Puja.
The plan includes 23 food and beverage outlets such as Starbucks, Subway, Barista and Harilal, and 17 branded retail shops selling clothing, footwear, watches and accessories. The facilities will be located across the arrival, departure and multi-level car parking areas of the airport.
Airport officials said the outlets will cover 1,200 square metres for food ventures and 1,145 square metres for retail shops. A two-storey section above the multi-level car park will be designed as a mini mall, accessible not just to passengers but also to the general public.
In addition to food and shopping options, two executive lounges are being developed to enhance passenger comfort. Officials said the expanded facilities would align Patna with the experience of major metropolitan airports in India.
The changes, they added, are intended to improve the convenience of travellers while also positioning Patna airport as a regional hub offering both travel and retail experiences.
