Patna: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to arrive in Bihar this evening on a special flight, in what is being seen as a significant move ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Shah’s two-day visit comes amid heightened political activity in the state, with parties intensifying preparations for the polls.
Shah is scheduled to land in Patna at 7 p.m. and will spend the night in the city. On Thursday, he will attend two major meetings with party workers and officials to discuss election strategies and organisational plans, boosting morale and energising the party ahead of the elections.
His first engagement will be in Sasaram, at the Lalan Singh Stadium in Dehri, where he is expected to meet 2,500 key party workers representing ten districts of Magadh and Shahabad, including MPs, MLAs, legislative council members, and officials from Rohtas, Kaimur, Ara, Buxar, East and West Gaya, Nawada, Jehanabad, Arwal, and Aurangabad.
Later in the day, Shah will travel to Begusarai’s Refinery Township Sports Ground for a second meeting with leaders and party workers from ten districts, including Patna Rural, Patna Metropolitan, Barh, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Munger, Jamui, Lakhisarai, Khagaria, and Begusarai. Reports suggest he may return to Bihar on September 27 to meet leaders from the remaining districts.
Shah’s visit follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Purnia on September 15, signalling an intensification of political activity in the state. Analysts say the Home Minister’s sudden arrival underscores the central leadership’s focus on Bihar, highlighting the strategic importance of the state in the forthcoming elections.
