Gayaji: Reports suggest that President Droupadi Murmu and industrialist Mukesh Ambani, along with his family, may visit Gaya in Bihar to perform ancestral rites during the ongoing Pitra Paksha festival. The Vishnupad Temple, one of the city’s most sacred sites, is expected to host the high-profile rituals.
According to local sources, the Ambani family could arrive on September 19, followed by President Murmu on September 20. However, neither the district administration nor the Vishnupad Temple management committee has officially confirmed the visits. Despite this, preparations for security and ceremonial arrangements are reportedly underway.
District Magistrate Shashank Shubankar stated that while they have received information regarding the President’s potential visit, no official confirmation has been issued. “We cannot share details at this stage, but the administration is making all necessary arrangements,” he said.
Shambhu Bittal, president of the Vishnupad Temple Management Committee, echoed this uncertainty, noting that while no official notification has been received, the anticipated visits are seen as a positive development. “It will enhance the reputation of Sanatan Dharma and highlight Gaya’s significance among the public,” he said.
Following the temple rituals, President Murmu is reported to plan offerings in the Phalgu River at Devghat and a visit to the sanctum sanctorum of the Vishnupad Temple. The Ambani family is also expected to participate in the rituals.
Preparations for security, crowd management, and temple arrangements are being coordinated at the administrative level, reflecting the high-profile nature of the potential visits. Local devotees and residents are reportedly excited, awaiting confirmation and hoping to witness the ceremonies over the coming days.
