Patna: The Patna Municipal Corporation has launched a citywide programme, “Swachh Talk,” aimed at strengthening preparations for Swachh Survekshan 2025 and reviving the momentum of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The initiative began at NIT Ghat and will be rolled out across all 75 wards, with particular focus on the GVP initiative — a model to clean and beautify public spaces. Officials said the forums would provide a platform for citizens, social activists, and sanitation experts to share experiences, challenges, and innovative solutions for a cleaner city.
The campaign, running under the slogan Swachhata Hi Seva until October 2, will include awareness drives, extensive cleaning operations, tree plantations and cultural activities such as rangoli programmes.
On Thursday, activities were held across multiple zones, including the Railway Station outer premises (Nutan Rajdhani Zone), Mahavir Temple and Mosque (Ward 21), Ashiana Market (Patliputra Zone), Gayatri Mandir area (Kankarbagh), Gandhi Ghat (Bankipur), Gulzarbagh Station (Azimabad), and near the Gurudwara in Patna City.
Municipal officials, brand ambassadors, ward councillors and members of monitoring committees joined local residents in pledging to make Patna one of the cleanest cities in India. Deputy municipal commissioner and sanitation experts also attended, noting that civic participation was key to sustaining results.
