Rains Persist Across Bihar; Yellow Alert for Thundershowers in East and Central Regions Today
Patna: Bihar, including the capital city Patna, experienced a spell of rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning on Wednesday, attributed to cyclonic circulations prevailing over Jharkhand and Telangana.
Notable districts such as Motihari, Muzaffarpur, Saharsa, Aurangabad, Sitamarhi, Chhapra, and Patna received significant rainfall amounts, with Motihari leading at 31.2mm. According to data from the Patna Meteorological Centre, the city of Patna recorded 1.1mm of rainfall among others.
In response to the weather phenomenon, the Patna Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow-colored warning for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at one or two places across districts in the north-central, northeast, and southeastern regions of the state on Thursday. However, no weather warnings have been issued from Friday onwards.
The rainfall has provided relief from the soaring temperatures, with the Meteorological Department forecasting a decrease of three to five notches in temperature over the next two days. Conversely, temperatures are expected to rise by similar levels over the subsequent three days.
