Patna: RJD leader and leader of opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the NDA government, accusing it of “stabbing Dalits, backward, extremely backward and tribal communities in the chest” by not incorporating enhanced reservations from the Bihar caste census into the Constitution.
Recalling October 25, 2019, when as deputy chief minister he released Bihar’s caste census report, Yadav said the landmark step had forced even BJP and RSS leaders who once opposed the exercise to announce a nationwide caste census. But he alleged the government’s “intentions and implementation remain questionable.”
“The anti-Dalit, backward, reservation thief BJP has robbed the rights of marginalised communities by not including the 95% reservation, as per our report, in the 30th Schedule of the Constitution,” Yadav said in a statement. “This anti-reservation move by the double-engine government is causing millions of jobs to be lost.”
He accused the NDA of denying social justice and educational opportunities to deprived groups, arguing that the fight for proportional representation in jobs and education would continue. “Our struggle brought this stubborn government to its knees, but the battle is far from over,” Yadav said, appealing for public support to achieve “economic justice.”
