Patna: Vice-president C.P. Radhakrishnan is expected to visit Sitabdiara in Saran district on October 11 to take part in the birth anniversary celebrations of Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan.
Though his arrival has not yet been formally announced, administrative sources have confirmed that preparations are under way. District authorities have begun planning crowd management, traffic control and security arrangements around the venue, with several government and semi-government departments involved in coordinating the event.
The celebration in Sitabdiara, Narayan’s birthplace, is regarded as the focal point of JP Jayanti commemorations. Officials say the vice-president’s presence is likely to add significance to this year’s programme, while also increasing the level of administrative vigilance in Saran and neighbouring areas.
The district administration has been finalising logistical details to ensure a peaceful and orderly gathering. Vice-President’s visit is expected to draw large crowds, with local residents and dignitaries treating the occasion as a moment of pride and remembrance for the leader of India’s 1974 “Total Revolution” movement.
