Patna – Dr. Aditya Rajan, a postgraduate student at AIIMS Patna, has been honored with the prestigious “Student of the Year” award, while Dr. Supriya Sharma received the silver medal at the 82nd Annual Conference of the All India Ophthalmological Society held in Kolkata. The event witnessed the participation of around 10,000 ophthalmologists engaging in scientific deliberations.
The “Student of the Year” award was contested among ophthalmology postgraduates from across India. In the preliminary round, 100 postgraduates from various institutions were screened, with five finalists selected for the final round (two from AIIMS Patna, two from JIPMER Puducherry, and one from AIIMS Nagpur). Dr. Aditya Rajan emerged victorious in the final round, earning the title of “Student of the Year,” while Dr. Supriya Sharma was awarded the silver medal.
Executive Director of AIIMS Patna, Prof. (Dr.) Gopal Krushna Pal, extended his felicitations and congratulations to both the postgraduate students and the faculty members of the Ophthalmology Department for bringing honour to the institute. The ceremony took place in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Amit Raj, Head of the Ophthalmology Department.
