Patna: Patna, less than a month away from the revered Chhath festival, is abuzz with preparations to ensure a seamless and vibrant celebration. The Chhath Ghats lining the banks of the sacred Ganga river in the capital witnessed a meticulous inspection on Thursday, led by Santosh Kumar Mall, the Principal Secretary for Urban Development and Housing, along with the Patna Municipal Commissioner, Animesh Kumar Parashar.
Principal Secretary Mall embarked on a comprehensive inspection journey, covering the ghats from Bind Toli Ghat at Digha to Kangan Ghat at Patna City. During this thorough assessment, Municipal Commissioner Parashar, along with Additional Municipal Commissioner Sheela Irani, received firsthand updates on the current state of the ghats.
The inspection encompassed several vital locations, including Digha Ghat numbers 92, 93, 88, and 83, as well as Rajapur Ghat, Pahalwan Ghat, Collectorate Ghat, Bans Ghat, Gulbi Ghat, Bhadra Ghat, and Kangan Ghat.
Principal Secretary Mall, during the inspection, issued directives to number all the ghats and display their names prominently in capital letters. He also stressed the need for expeditious preparation of access roads and the implementation of special lighting and decorative arrangements. The inspection event saw the presence of key officials, including executive officers, executive engineers, and personnel from the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC).
The authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the Chhath festival, one of Bihar’s most significant celebrations, proceeds without a hitch, providing the faithful with an environment conducive to their rituals and festivities.
