Begusarai: Four individuals lost their lives late Wednesday evening after being struck by a train in a tragic incident near Rahua Dala under the Sahebpur Kamal police station limits. Preliminary reports suggest the tragedy was caused by the group crossing the tracks due to severe waterlogging on the surrounding pathways, leaving them with limited options for movement.
The victims were reportedly returning from a fair when the accident occurred. Eyewitness accounts indicated that a train suddenly arrived on the track. The victims were unable to react in time due to the train simultaneously crossing both the up and down lines, leaving no immediate route for escape.
The deceased have been identified as Dharmdev Mahato (45), his 7-year-old grandson, Rita Devi (wife of Madan Mahato), and Roshni Kumari (daughter of Madan Mahato). The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community.
Police officials at the Sahebpur Kamal station confirmed the incident. The train involved in the accident was reportedly traveling on the Barauni-Khagaria route.
