Patna: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the RJD-Congress alliance, declaring that the ongoing Bihar Assembly election is “not about electing an MLA or minister, but about stopping the return of jungle raj.” Addressing rallies in Lakhisarai, Munger, and Nalanda, Shah appealed for votes for NDA candidates, including Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Sinha and Samrat Chaudhary, while highlighting Nitish Kumar’s record on law and order.
“During Lalu-Rabri’s rule, 38 massacres took place in Bihar,” Shah said in Nalanda. “Kidnappings, murders, and robberies were the norm. Nitish Kumar ended that reign of terror. Not a single massacre has occurred in his 20 years of rule.”

At his Munger rally, the Home Minister linked the campaign to Bihar’s religious identity, recalling that “Sita Mata performed Chhath Puja in Munger.” He accused Rahul Gandhi of showing ignorance and disrespect toward the festival. “Rahul Baba says Chhath is a drama. His maternal home is in Italy — how could he understand Chhath Maiya? It’s fine to insult PM Modi, but you’ve insulted Bihar’s faith, and people will answer you at the ballot box,” Shah said.
He also dismissed opposition claims about leadership changes, asserting, “Neither the CM’s seat in Bihar nor the PM’s seat in Delhi is vacant. Nitish Kumar is here, Narendra Modi is there.”
