Patna: Despite adverse weather grounding his helicopter, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar pressed ahead with his campaign on Friday, covering more than 250 kilometres by road and addressing voters across 11 assembly constituencies in Samastipur, Darbhanga, and Madhubani districts.
CM Nitish, leading the NDA campaign, began his day in Patna around 10am after attending the alliance’s manifesto release event. Heavy rain had raised doubts about whether his campaign trail would continue, but the chief minister chose to travel by road instead of cancelling his schedule. Accompanied by JD(U)’s acting national president, Sanjay Jha, CM Nitish made multiple stops, meeting voters in Morwa, Ujiarpur, Vibhutipur, Rosera, and Warisnagar in Samastipur district before heading to Darbhanga.
In Darbhanga, he held roadshows in Benipur, Alinagar, Kusheshwarsthan, and Darbhanga Rural constituencies, drawing large roadside crowds. Notably, CM Nitish also campaigned for BJP candidate and singer Maithili Thakur in Alinagar. His tour then extended to Madhubani, where he interacted with residents of Phulparas and Laukha constituencies. Supporters turned out in significant numbers, chanting slogans in his favour.
The chief minister concluded the day at Jha’s residence in Araria Sangram and is expected to continue campaigning in the region on Saturday.
