Patna: Political temperatures in Bihar are soaring despite continuous rain across several districts under the impact of Cyclone Montha. The state witnessed a mix of controversy, courtroom developments, and unique campaign scenes on Friday — from Bhojpuri actor Khesari Lal Yadav’s contentious statement on Lalu Prasad Yadav’s “Jungle Raj” to an RJD MLA fighting his election from jail and another candidate campaigning by boat.
Bhojpuri artist and RJD candidate from Chhapra, Khesari Lal Yadav, sparked a political storm by stating that “Lalu’s Jungle Raj was better.”
He said, “People could survive by paying money. Today, humanity itself is dying. No leader is wrong — people are wrong. It’s not about murder or kidnapping, it’s about employment. If we don’t get that, we’ll find livelihood even in death. Give us enough jobs, and perhaps we won’t need to murder or demand ransom.”
His statement quickly went viral, triggering sharp reactions from opposition parties and political commentators.
Tej Pratap Yadav, RJD leader and son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, reacted sarcastically, saying, “Will Khesari Lal give jobs? To dancers?” referring to the actor’s background in Bhojpuri cinema and stage performances.
Election Scene Heats Up
With less than a week left for polling, Bihar’s election scene remains charged with political jibes, courtroom battles, and weather-related challenges. From Khesari Lal’s remarks reviving debates on governance to Reetlal Yadav’s campaign from behind bars, the run-up to the polls has turned both dramatic and unpredictable.
