Patna: Ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar released a video message speaking directly to the people of the state. In his address, he shared his thoughts about Bihar’s journey over the past two decades and said that the identity of being a Bihari has now become a symbol of pride and respect. Nitish reminded people that when he first took office in 2005, Bihar was known for its backwardness and people often felt embarrassed to say they were from the state. But, he said, those days are gone and Bihar has made great progress under his government.
Nitish Kumar said that his government has worked not for personal gain or family benefit, but for every citizen of Bihar. “When I started my work as Chief Minister, being called a Bihari was considered an insult,” he said. “Now, it has become a matter of honour. I did not do anything for my own family, I worked for everyone.” He added that his government has served all sections of society equally—Hindus, Muslims, upper castes, backward castes, extremely backward castes, Dalits, and Mahadalits.
The Chief Minister credited the combined efforts of the NDA government at the Centre and in the State for speeding up the pace of development. He said that because of this partnership, Bihar has seen improvements in many areas including roads, electricity, education, and employment. Nitish stated, “Only the NDA can continue this progress and bring more development to Bihar.” His statement is seen as both a reminder of his government’s achievements and a call for continued support from the people.
As the election season begins, Nitish Kumar’s message appears to be aimed at strengthening his emotional connection with voters. By reminding them of Bihar’s transformation and the dignity that comes with being a Bihari, he hopes to inspire pride and unity among people across all communities. His words reflect both confidence in his past work and optimism for Bihar’s future under the NDA’s leadership.
