Patna: Saturday, November 1, 2025, is considered a very special and auspicious day according to the Hindu calendar. It marks the observance of Devutthana Ekadashi along with the formation of Ravi Yoga, a rare and powerful combination that is believed to bring success and good fortune. Devutthana Ekadashi, also known as Prabodhini Ekadashi, is the day when Lord Vishnu is believed to wake from his cosmic sleep, signalling the start of the wedding and festive season in Hindu tradition.
According to the Panchang, today is the Dashami Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Kartik under the Vikram Samvat 2081. This Tithi, ruled by Veerbhadra — the mighty commander of Lord Shiva — is considered highly auspicious for starting new ventures, holding religious ceremonies, and inaugurating new buildings. The Dashami Tithi will last until 9:11 am. After that, the sacred period of Devutthana Ekadashi will take over, allowing devotees to perform rituals and prayers throughout the day.
An additional blessing today is the presence of Ravi Yoga, a celestial combination that is said to destroy negative energy and bring positivity to those who perform spiritual activities. The Sun rises at 6:44 am and sets at 6:01 pm, offering a full day for worship and good deeds. The Moon will be in Aquarius and under the Shatabhisha Nakshatra from 6:40 am to 8:00 pm. Although Shatabhisha Nakshatra is not always seen as favourable, it is believed to be good for travel, meeting friends, and making spiritual progress. The ruling deity of this Nakshatra is Varuna, and its planetary ruler is Rahu.
However, astrologers have advised people to avoid certain hours during the day for important work. The Rahukaal, considered an inauspicious period, will last from 9:33 am to 10:58 am. Other unfavourable periods such as Yamaganda, Gulika, Dumuhurta, and Varjyam should also be avoided for new beginnings. Still, apart from these times, the rest of the day is believed to be extremely beneficial for those who wish to perform puja, make important decisions, or start fresh chapters in their lives.
As the Sun and Moon align under this powerful mix of Ravi Yoga and Devutthana Ekadashi, believers are encouraged to use the day for prayer, gratitude, and self-reflection. The energy of the day is said to help remove obstacles, bring inner peace, and strengthen one’s spiritual path — making November 1 a day filled with both divine blessings and celestial harmony.
