Patna: The Indian Police Service Officers’ Wives Association (IPSOWOA) organised a blood donation camp at the BSP campus on Sunday, drawing strong participation from members of the Bihar Police family. More than 100 personnel attended the event, with 70 units of blood collected.
Dr Manisha, director of the Mahavir Cancer Institute, thanked the donors and said blood donation remained one of the most meaningful acts of service. She urged people to donate regularly, noting the critical requirement for young cancer patients.
Madhurima Raj, president of the association, said initiatives like these strengthen unity within the police community. Secretary Sukriti and treasurer Nivedita also expressed gratitude to the doctors and police personnel who contributed to the effort.
Dr Smriti Paswan, a member of the organisation who helped coordinate the event, said the camp underscored the importance of compassion and service at a time when many patients rely on voluntary donations.
Several senior officers, including DIG Jayantkant, SP Vikram Sihag, Additional Director (IB) Baljeet Singh and ASP (law and order) Mohibullah Ansari, took part in the donation drive. Members including Anu Srivastava, Ayushi and Sonia Singh were also present.
