Arrest Made in Patna University Student Harsh Raj’s Murder

Third Arrest Made in Patna University Student's Murder Case

Patna: Harsh Raj, a final-year student at BN College, Patna University, was beaten to death on Monday. The police have swiftly arrested the main suspect, also a student, shedding light on the motives behind the brutal attack. The investigation reveals that the murder stemmed from a dispute during the Dandiya Night event held at Miller School Ground some time ago.

Harsh Raj had come to Patna Law College on Monday to sit for an examination. After leaving the examination hall, he was attacked by a group armed with sticks. Despite being rushed to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in critical condition, Harsh succumbed to his injuries during treatment. In response, Patna University has canceled all examinations until further notice.

The murder has sparked widespread discussion, with some attributing the incident to student political rivalry and others to the altercation at the Dandiya Night event. During last year’s Durga Puja celebrations, Harsh organized a Dandiya Night at Miller High School, which saw the participation of many Patna University students, including those from Patel and Jackson hostels. A dispute at the event led to a violent confrontation, leaving one student from Patel Hostel injured.

Harsh Raj was well-known and popular within the university community, particularly due to his political and social activism. He had aspirations of contesting the student union elections and remained active even during the pandemic. His growing influence and political ambitions are believed to have contributed to the motive behind his murder.

The police continue their investigation, actively searching for a second suspect involved in the attack. The murder has heightened tensions at Patna University, raising serious concerns about student safety. The university administration has assured the community that those responsible will be apprehended and measures will be taken to ensure campus security.

The murder of Harsh Raj has left his family and friends in mourning and has profoundly impacted the university community, sparking calls for justice and heightened security measures.
