One of the most striking moments came when Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha touched the feet of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, seeking blessings moments after taking his oath. The gesture — steeped in political and cultural symbolism — added a dramatic pause to the otherwise formal proceedings.
Immediately after, Sinha turned toward the Opposition benches, where Tejashwi Yadav rose and embraced him, drawing smiles from across the House.
Earlier, Home Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Tejashwi shared a brief but warm handshake — a scene at odds with their bitter exchanges over the past months.

Adding to the day’s colour, MLA Ajay Dangi arrived at the Assembly in an auto-rickshaw, a sight that quickly went viral on social media. Nearby, seasoned BJP leader Prem Kumar, an eight-time MLA, bowed in a traditional gesture before entering the House, continuing a practice he has followed for years.
Meanwhile, RJD MLA Bhai Virendra resumed the Opposition’s combative tone outside the chamber, alleging that the “government was formed by stolen votes” and vowing a strong, persistent opposition despite their reduced numbers.
Speaker Election on Tuesday, Governor’s Address to Follow
According to the Assembly schedule, the election for the Speaker’s post will take place on 2 December. On 3 December, the Governor will address a joint sitting of both Houses, followed by a debate on the motion of thanks on 4 December. The session will conclude on 5 December with discussions on the second supplementary expenditure statement.
