Patna: Nitish Kumar has received a special congratulatory letter from the World Book of Records after becoming the first person in India to be sworn in as Chief Minister ten times. The recognition comes soon after the NDA’s resounding victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, which brought Kumar back to office once again and set a new political milestone.
The letter from the World Book of Records praised his achievement as a moment of pride for the entire country. It stated that from 1947 to 2025, no other political leader had taken the oath of Chief Minister as many times. The organisation said this record reflects Kumar’s long-standing dedication to the people of Bihar and the trust they have consistently placed in his leadership.
According to the letter, serving as Chief Minister for ten terms is a rare occurrence in democratic history around the world. The World Book of Records described it as not only an exceptional personal achievement but also a historic milestone for Indian politics. It added that Kumar’s work in governance, development, social welfare and maintaining administrative stability has been a source of inspiration for millions.
The London-based World Book of Records announced that it would include Nitish Kumar’s name in its global list of achievers and present him with an official certificate. The organisation is known for recognising extraordinary accomplishments, documenting cultural heritage, and honouring individuals, institutions and historic places across the world.
