Patna: The Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) has announced a fresh recruitment drive for junior engineers in the state’s rural works department, offering 554 posts to engineering graduates and diploma holders. The move is expected to provide a significant boost to government job aspirants in Bihar, particularly those with technical backgrounds.
According to the notification issued by the commission, the online application process began on December 12 and will remain open until January 12, 2026. Applications will be accepted only through the official BTSC website.
The recruitment covers vacancies across multiple categories, with 60% of the posts earmarked for the open category and 40% reserved under Bihar-specific categories, including provisions for OBC, SC, and ST candidates in line with state reservation norms.
To be eligible, candidates must hold an engineering degree or a relevant diploma from a recognised institution. The age limit for applicants has been set at 18 to 37 years, with age relaxations applicable for candidates from reserved categories as per government rules.
Selected candidates will be appointed under pay level 7, with monthly salaries ranging from Rs. 9,300 to Rs. 34,800, in addition to other government allowances. Officials said the recruitment is aimed at strengthening technical capacity within the rural works department, which plays a key role in infrastructure development across Bihar’s villages.
Applicants have been advised to consult the official notification for detailed eligibility criteria, reservation break-up, and selection procedures.
