Patna: A group of trainee officers from the 2025 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) visited Bapu Tower in Patna on Tuesday as part of their professional exposure programme, officials said.
The delegation comprised 10 officers from the Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar and Tamil Nadu cadres, along with three officers from the Royal Bhutan Service. The visit was organised under the academic programme of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie.
Siddharth Singh, who led the delegation, said the officers found the structure and its presentation impressive. “Bapu Tower stands out as an example of modern engineering. The films and exhibits showcased inside are impactful and offer a meaningful narrative,” he said.
Following the visit, the officers met Kumar Ravi, secretary of the state’s building construction department. He briefed them on the department’s ongoing work and key public buildings developed in Bihar in recent years.
As part of the interaction, the officers were presented with a coffee-table book on Bihar by renowned photographer Raghu Rai, along with another publication highlighting the architectural heritage and contemporary structures of the state.
Officials said the visit was intended to familiarise young administrators with Bihar’s public infrastructure initiatives and to provide insights into the role of architecture and urban design in governance.
