Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday inspected the construction of the Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Super Specialty Hospital in Rajvanshi Nagar, Patna, and directed officials to expedite the work.
The hospital, being developed as a 400-bed super-specialty orthopedic facility, aims to offer comprehensive, state-of-the-art treatment under one roof. Kumar emphasised the need for “no negligence” in patient care and spoke directly with patients and their guardians to assess existing facilities.

The six-storey building, sanctioned at a cost of Rs 215 crore, is scheduled for completion by March 2026. It will include 42 ICU beds, 15 private wards, six operation theatres, six lifts, and parking for 250 vehicles. A total of 140 posts, including 66 doctors, have been created to ensure specialised care.

The hospital’s development was first announced in 2012, with the goal of providing all forms of treatment for orthopedic diseases in Patna. Officials accompanying the Chief Minister during the inspection included Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Health Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh, and District Magistrate Dr Thiyagarajan S.M.
The super-specialty hospital is expected to significantly improve treatment options for patients with orthopedic conditions in the region.
