RJD Warns Members Against Joining Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party
Patna: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has denounced Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party, branding it as the BJP’s ‘B’ team and cautioning its members against any form of association or cooperation with the new party. This warning came in a letter from RJD state president Jagdanand Singh to the party workers, highlighting the consequences for those who join or support Jan Suraj.
In his letter, Singh expressed concerns over the growing alliance between RJD members and Jan Suraj across various districts. He urged party workers to resist the allure of the new party, which he claims is financially backed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and aims to undermine the RJD.
“Jan Suraj campaign, founded by Prashant Kishor, also known as Prashant Kishor Pandey, has been accused of being a tool to weaken the RJD and bolster the BJP’s influence. Their intention is to weaken the Rashtriya Janata Dal and boost the power of the BJP,” Singh wrote, urging party members to stay committed to the RJD’s principles and legacy.
Singh’s letter called on party members to honour the social justice and communal harmony ideals championed by RJD leaders, including Lalu Prasad, and icons like Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Periyar, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Jananayak Karpuri Thakur, and Lokanayak Jayaprakash Narayan. He warned that any anti-party activities would result in disciplinary action.
In response, Sanjay Kumar Thakur, state chief spokesperson and media in-charge of Jan Suraj, vehemently condemned the letter, dismissing it as an expression of Singh’s frustration and distorted mentality. Thakur claimed that disillusionment among Muslims and Yadavs, due to ongoing neglect, has fuelled discontent within the RJD, leading to Singh’s anger and the party’s defensive stance.
