Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today undertook a review of several development schemes in East Champaran district during his Samridhi Yatra, urging officials to accelerate the implementation of previously announced projects.
During the visit, CM inspected the Government Women’s Industrial Training Institute in Motihari, where he observed a training programme run in collaboration with Tata Tech. Students attending the programme said they were benefiting from the initiative, which offers practical skills and employment opportunities. The chief minister encouraged them to study diligently and secure jobs upon completion.

At the institute, he remotely unveiled a plaque laying the foundation stone for 40 new schemes worth Rs 34 crore, and inaugurated 30 schemes valued at Rs 138 crore aimed at supporting East Champaran’s development.

He also toured various stalls showcasing products from local entrepreneurs participating in the Small Entrepreneurs Scheme and the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Policy. “It is a matter of great happiness that you are self-employed. We want you to progress, and the government will provide every possible support,” he said. The chief minister similarly interacted with women from self-help groups, known as Jeevika Didis, observing agricultural, food, and other manufactured products. He presented a symbolic cheque of Rs 370 crore to 27,429 self-help groups through bank linkages, emphasising the government’s commitment to their economic empowerment.

CM Nitish further inspected the under-construction high-level RCC bridge and approach road over the Dhanauti River in Majuraha village, which will connect Motihari city to Kotwa. He instructed officials to expedite the project to facilitate easier movement for local residents.

Earlier, the chief minister reviewed progress on the under-construction Virat Ramayana Temple in Kalyanpur block and participated in the Sahasralingam Puja ceremony, touring the temple complex and issuing directives to officials.
