Patna: The managing director of North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) and Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited (BSPTCL), Rahul Kumar, carried out an inspection of the Tulapatganj 33/11 kV power substation in Madhubani on Tuesday, underlining the importance of safety and operational discipline in the state’s power infrastructure.
During the visit, Kumar reviewed the condition and maintenance of power transformers installed at the substation, along with the 33 kV and outgoing 11 kV transmission lines. Officials were instructed to ensure that all prescribed safety standards are followed strictly, particularly in day-to-day operations and maintenance work.
The managing director also examined a “Wall of Safety” installed within the substation premises, which displays essential safety instructions for personnel before entering the facility. He praised the initiative as a practical step towards accident prevention and emphasised that such measures must be supported by consistent compliance on the ground.

In addition, Kumar directed staff to follow standard operating procedures rigorously across power substations, grid substations and electrical lines, and to keep all relevant registers updated on a regular basis. As part of the visit, he planted saplings within the substation campus, linking infrastructure development with environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.
