Rajgir: Four tourists were found dead in a hotel in Rajgir, Bihar, sparking a major investigation by local authorities. The police have described the discovery as “baffling,” with the cause of death still unknown.
According to reports, the bodies were discovered in a hotel room that was locked from the inside. Staff reportedly noticed a foul smell emanating from the room, prompting a search that led to the grim discovery. Police and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team immediately arrived at the scene to begin evidence collection.
The tourists had reportedly arrived in Rajgir just two days prior for sightseeing. Early reports suggest the possibility of suicide, with speculation that the individuals may have hanged themselves, although this has not been officially confirmed. Authorities are investigating all possibilities.
Police have seized the deceased’s Aadhaar cards and are examining the hotel register to verify guest information. It is also being considered that the four may have belonged to the same family, though this remains unverified.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have urged caution against speculation until forensic findings are released.
