Patna: The general manager of East Central Railway, Chhatrasal Singh, carried out a window trailing inspection of the Patna–Patratu rail section on February 13, reviewing safety arrangements and infrastructure along the route. The inspection was conducted via Fatuha, Natesar, Paimar, Bandhua and Koderma, covering key stretches of the corridor.
During the visit, Singh assessed track conditions, signalling systems, railway bridges and overall operational safety. He directed railway officials to ensure strict compliance with safety standards and called for continuous monitoring of track maintenance to guarantee smooth and secure train operations.
The general manager also inspected the diesel locomotive shed at Patratu, where he reviewed maintenance work and infrastructure facilities. He examined HHP WDG4 locomotive No 12905, which has undergone major component repairs and replacement before being cleared for service. Officials said the inspection focused on improving efficiency and ensuring high-quality maintenance practices.
Singh emphasised that safety must remain the top priority across all departments. He instructed officers and staff to maintain rigorous quality checks and adopt best practices in locomotive servicing and infrastructure upkeep.
Divisional railway manager Vinod Kumar of Danapur division and divisional railway manager Akhilesh Mishra of Dhanbad division were present during the inspection within their respective jurisdictions.
The inspection continued on the return journey along the Patratu–Garhwa Road–Patna section via Garhwa Road, Son Nagar and Gaya, as part of a broader review of operational readiness in the region.
