Patna: Passengers in Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, and Samastipur will benefit from improved rail connectivity as the Amrit Bharat Express is set to run on a regular schedule. The premium non-AC service will operate between Panvel in Maharashtra and Alipurduar in West Bengal, passing through key stations including Patliputra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, and Katihar. The move is expected to strengthen direct links between North and West India.
East Central Railway CPRO Saraswati Chandra confirmed that train number 11031, the Panvel-Alipurduar Amrit Bharat Express, will commence operations on February 23, with the return service, 11032 Alipurduar-Panvel Express, starting on February 26. The train is designed with passenger comfort in mind, featuring mobile charging points, air spring coaches, radium floor strips, enhanced toilets for disabled passengers, fire detection systems, talk-back units, and modern lighting.
The 11031 Panvel-Alipurduar Express will depart Panvel every Monday at 11:50 am, stopping at Kalyan, Bhusaval, Itarsi, Jabalpur, and Prayagraj Chheoki before reaching DDU, Patliputra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, and Samastipur. It is scheduled to reach Katihar on Wednesday at 3:20 am and Alipurduar by 1:50 pm. The 11032 Alipurduar-Panvel Express will leave Alipurduar every Thursday at 4:45 am, passing through Katihar, Khagaria, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, and Patliputra, arriving in Panvel at 5:30 am on Saturday.
The launch of this service is expected to provide significant convenience to travellers across North Bihar, offering a reliable option for long-distance journeys.
