Patna: Finding an authorised Aadhaar centre may soon become much easier for people across India. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with Google to show all verified Aadhaar centres on Google Maps. This means citizens will no longer have to wander around or ask around to find the nearest centre for getting a new Aadhaar card or updating existing details.
The new feature will let users see which centres provide services for adults, children, or only address and mobile number updates. Over 60,000 Aadhaar centres, including modern Aadhaar Seva Kendras, will be listed. According to UIDAI, this move will not only make it easier for people to reach centres but will also prevent confusion and misinformation about which centres are authorised.
UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar said, “UIDAI’s objective has always been to bring ease of living to Aadhaar number holders. This collaboration will ensure that access to authorised Aadhaar centres will now be easier, faster and more transparent.” By linking the service with Google Maps, the public will be guided only to verified centres, ensuring smooth and reliable access.
The initiative is expected to roll out in the coming months and is seen as a big step towards improving public convenience. With Aadhaar being necessary for banking, government services, education, and healthcare, making centres easy to find could save citizens time and effort, while making services more efficient.
This partnership highlights how technology can simplify daily tasks and improve government services, showing the benefits of collaboration between public authorities and private companies like Google.
