Patna: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s national president, Nitin Nabin, joined Holi celebrations in Patna on Tuesday shortly after arriving in the city, taking part in a cultural programme organised by the party’s Patna Mahanagar unit.
The event, held at Chatkara Food Court on Bailey Road, drew a large number of party workers and supporters. Coloured powders, music and flower petals marked the occasion as leaders and cadres gathered to celebrate the spring festival together.
Addressing the crowd, Nabin described Holi as more than a seasonal festivity, calling it “a living testament” to India’s cultural heritage. He said the festival reflects unity in diversity, comparing the coming together of colours to the social fabric of the country. “Holi is not merely a festival of colours; it represents centuries-old traditions that shape our social and cultural ethos,” he said.
In a lighter moment, Nabin told party workers that Holi was a day for music rather than speeches. As the popular song Patna Mein Ram Khele Holi played, he applauded along with the crowd and joined in the celebratory mood, prompting cheers from supporters.
The presence of senior state leaders, including BJP Bihar president Sanjay Saraogi and deputy chief minister Samrat Choudhary, added to the atmosphere. Party workers described the gathering as both a festive occasion and an opportunity to reinforce organisational unity ahead of upcoming political engagements in the state.
