Patna: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced Nitin Nabin and Shivesh Kumar as its candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from Bihar, ending weeks of speculation about potential nominees.
The party released its list of candidates for Upper House elections in eight states, confirming the two names for Bihar.
Political speculation had intensified in recent weeks that Bhojpuri film star Pawan Singh might be nominated by the BJP for a Rajya Sabha seat. The rumours gathered momentum after public comments by Bhojpuri singer Gunjan Singh, who predicted that the party would send Pawan Singh to Parliament. However, the official announcement has now put those claims to rest.
Nitin Nabin, a senior BJP leader in Bihar, and Shivesh Kumar have been nominated for the two seats allocated to the party in the state.

The Rajya Sabha elections have become a major focus of political activity in Bihar, with several parties finalising their candidates ahead of the polls. Five seats from the state are scheduled for election as the terms of the current members expire in April.
Party leaders said the nomination of Nabin and Kumar was aimed at strengthening the BJP’s organisational presence in the state while maintaining its political balance within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
The announcement has triggered renewed political discussion in Bihar, with observers closely watching how the remaining seats will be contested among the alliance partners and opposition parties.
