Muzaffarpur: The Muzaffarpur district administration has accelerated preparations to develop Paru as a new industrial hub, following earlier initiatives in Bela and Motipur aimed at strengthening the district’s industrial base.
District magistrate Subrata Kumar Sen has sent a proposal to the Bihar government seeking a preliminary notification for the acquisition of around 700 acres of land for the project. The planned industrial area is expected to be directly connected to the under-construction Patna–Bettiah four-lane highway.
To ensure road access, the district administration has written to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) requesting the development of a connecting road between the proposed industrial zone and the highway.
Officials say the project is intended to improve transportation infrastructure and reduce logistics costs for businesses. Easier road connectivity is expected to facilitate the movement of raw materials to factories and allow finished goods to be transported efficiently to markets across the state and the country.
Land for the industrial zone has been identified across five villages in the Paru area: Chandpur Chiutahan, Chaturpatti, Bhojpatti, Harpur Kaparphora and Vishunpur Saraiya. The district magistrate has directed the land acquisition department to complete measurement and demarcation of the land in accordance with regulations and expedite the process.
Authorities believe the development of the industrial area will also stimulate economic activity in surrounding rural areas. The arrival of large companies, warehouses and industrial units is expected to generate demand for transportation, storage, packaging and related services.
Local officials say these developments could create opportunities for small businesses and provide employment for young people in nearby villages.
