Bhojpur: Chief minister Nitish Kumar is expected to visit Ara in Bhojpur district on March 25 as part of his Samriddhi Yatra, where he will inaugurate a newly built hi-tech market complex worth around Rs 55 crore. The project, located inside the market committee premises, includes an administrative building, a Jeevika Mart and 70 commercial shops aimed at strengthening market infrastructure for traders and farmers.
The chief minister’s programme in Bhojpur is being planned at three locations. According to officials, he will first inspect the ongoing construction work of the proposed medical college near the Zero Mile area. During the visit, he will also review stalls set up by more than two dozen government departments showcasing various welfare schemes and development initiatives for the public.
As part of the tour, Kumar will also review infrastructure works in the city, including the widening of two key roads and a roundabout near the Zero Mile Golambar. Officials said the chief minister will also examine the progress of a water drainage system being developed to improve urban infrastructure and reduce waterlogging in the city.
The main event of the visit will take place at the market committee campus, where the chief minister will inaugurate a G+3 administrative building and the Jeevika Mart constructed by the Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation at a cost of more than Rs 54 crore. The complex will include facilities such as a canteen, rest houses for farmers and workers, a registration building, vending platforms, paved internal roads, drainage systems, toilets and two commercial blocks containing 70 shops.
Officials said most of the construction work has been completed, while the remaining tasks, including the installation of weighbridges, will be finished within the next few days. Once operational, the complex is expected to provide better facilities for farmers, traders and labourers visiting the market, including space for rest and improved arrangements for loading and unloading goods.
A public interaction programme will also be organised at the venue, where the chief minister will meet local representatives and residents. For this event, a large temporary German hanger structure will be installed to protect attendees from heat and rain. District authorities have appointed nodal and assistant nodal officers to supervise the arrangements, with preparations expected to speed up as the official schedule of the next phase of the Samriddhi Yatra is finalised.
