Ara: Farmers in revenue villages of the district are being provided key information during public meetings organised as part of the ongoing Bihar Land Survey and settlement process. Officials have clarified that landowners must keep all relevant documents ready during on-site verification carried out by survey officials, warning that failure to produce the documents could lead to errors in land records.
The information was shared on Thursday by settlement officer Neeraj Kumar Das during a public meeting held in Bakarnagar Mauza of Koilwar circle in Ara.
Officials said survey staff are conducting physical verification of land parcels by visiting villages in phases. During the process, amin-level survey officials are verifying documents related to land ownership and records. These include khata, khesra, rent receipts and documents related to mutation.
Authorities cautioned farmers that if they fail to present the required documents at the time of verification, there could be errors or delays in updating the land details.
Explaining the objective of the exercise, the settlement officer said the survey is being carried out in a transparent manner to minimise future land-related disputes. The information collected during the verification process is being digitally recorded to ensure that land records remain secure and easily accessible.
Assistant settlement officer Pankaj Kumar, camp in-charge officials, kanungos and survey staff were also present during the meeting.
