Buxar: Bihar is receiving increased economic support from the central government under the leadership of Narendra Modi, chief minister Nitish Kumar has said, pointing to a series of recent initiatives aimed at boosting the state’s development.
Speaking during a public interaction programme at Fort Ground in Buxar as part of his Samriddhi Yatra, Kumar cited the establishment of a Makhana Board, financial assistance for a new airport and the hosting of the Khelo India Youth Games as key examples of central backing.
The chief minister said that Bihar’s needs were being addressed with increasing attention, noting that Modi had visited the state multiple times and was actively working to resolve developmental gaps.
Kumar also placed strong emphasis on women’s empowerment, stating that Bihar Police now has the highest number of women personnel in the country. He added that around 1.69 lakh women are becoming financially independent through livelihood groups across the state.
Expressing optimism about Bihar’s future, Kumar said the state could join the ranks of India’s leading developed regions within the next five years. Deputy chief minister Samrat Chaudhary and water resources minister Vijay Chaudhary also addressed the gathering.
Outlining the government’s development roadmap for 2025–2030, Kumar announced an ambitious plan to connect 1 crore young people with government jobs and employment opportunities over the next five years.
Addressing the rally, he contrasted the present with the pre-2005 period, saying Bihar had previously struggled with law and order and limited basic infrastructure. He said the current administration had focused on “development with justice” to transform the state.
Kumar also presented the framework for Saat Nishchay-3, under which education, healthcare and solar energy have been identified as priority sectors for the next phase of development.
