Patna: Actor and comedian Rajpal Yadav has spoken publicly for the first time since his release from prison, expressing gratitude to those who supported him during a financial crisis that led to his incarceration.
Yadav, who served time in Tihar Jail in connection with a Rs 9 crore cheque bounce case, shared a video message 35 days after his release, thanking individuals who assisted him when he was unable to repay his debts.
Among those he acknowledged were actor Sonu Sood, music producer Rao Inderjit Yadav, and politician Tej Pratap Yadav.

Yadav said he had lacked the financial means to settle his liabilities at the time he surrendered in court. He credited Rao Inderjit Yadav, founder of the music company Gem Tunes, with playing a significant role in providing support. According to Yadav, Rs 1.11 crore was contributed on behalf of the company, alongside a public appeal for donations shared via social media.
He also highlighted assistance from Tej Pratap Yadav, who reportedly extended financial help amounting to Rs 11 lakh during the crisis.
In his message, Yadav expressed “deep gratitude from the bottom of my heart” to both Inderjit Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav, and wished the latter success in his political career.
