Patna: A special Ram Navami puja will be held at the Pancharupi Hanuman Temple in Rajvanshi Nagar, Patna, with elaborate arrangements in place to accommodate a large number of devotees.
Temple authorities said rituals dedicated to Lord Ram and Dakshinmukhi Hanuman will be conducted between 1am and 2.30am on March 26. The ceremony will include ceremonial bathing of the idols with panchamrit, perfumes and Ganges water, followed by adornment and a special aarti.
The temple will open for devotees from 2.30am onwards, allowing them to offer prayers and present prasad. Separate entry and exit arrangements have been made to manage the expected crowd, with designated access points for men and women.
Officials said preparations for the festival include decoration and refurbishment of the temple premises. Rajiv Ranjan, president of the temple trust, said extensive planning had been undertaken to ensure smooth conduct of rituals.
A major highlight of the event will be the offering of chhappan bhog—a traditional spread of 56 food items—along with approximately 50 quintals of naivedyam arranged for devotees.
Temple authorities estimate that around 150,000 people may visit the temple during the festival. Local vendors are also preparing large quantities of sweets, including laddoos, to cater to the influx.
The temple will briefly close between 11.45am and 12.15pm for midday rituals marking the birth of Lord Ram, after which worship will resume.
Authorities have urged devotees to follow guidelines and cooperate with arrangements to ensure a safe and orderly celebration.
