Patna: Ram Navami was celebrated with large-scale festivities at the ISKCON temple in Patna on Friday, drawing lakhs of devotees and showcasing elaborate decorations and religious ceremonies.
The temple was decorated with an estimated eight tonnes of flowers along with extensive lighting arrangements, creating a vibrant setting for the celebrations. Devotees began arriving early in the morning, with large crowds gathering throughout the day.
Temple authorities implemented security measures including barricading and deployment of police personnel, including women officers, to manage the influx of visitors.
Arrangements were also made to provide prasad and drinking water to devotees, while devotional chants and hymns filled the premises.
A series of religious programmes were held between 8am and 1pm, including mahabhishek, maha-aarti and the offering of chhappan bhog. Mahaprasad was later distributed among attendees.
Addressing the gathering, Adhikarta Das, co-chairman of the temple management committee, spoke about the values associated with Lord Ram and their relevance in contemporary society.
Another member of the committee, Radha Pati Charan Das, said the occasion represented a spiritual awakening and emphasised the importance of following the ideals associated with Lord Ram.
The event was attended by temple officials and devotees from across the state, with authorities describing the arrangements as part of efforts to ensure a smooth and safe celebration.
