Patna: Temperatures across Bihar are expected to rise gradually from Sunday, even as thunderstorms and strong winds continue to provide relief from intense heat, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Forecasters said that while the mercury will climb in most districts, cloud cover and intermittent storm activity are likely to prevent a sharp rise in discomfort levels.
In Patna, skies are expected to remain partly cloudy, with both maximum and minimum temperatures likely to increase. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 30.1C and a minimum of 20.4C.
Several parts of the state witnessed rainfall over the past 24 hours, contributing to a noticeable drop in temperatures. Raniganj in Araria recorded the highest rainfall at 50.4mm, while the state saw an average rainfall of around 5mm.

On Saturday, maximum temperatures fell by up to 7.5C and minimum temperatures by 4.1C across various districts. Temperatures ranged between 25.7C and 38.4C, with Bikramganj in Rohtas recording the highest and Bhagalpur the lowest at 17.7C.
Strong winds were reported in several areas, with Patna experiencing gusts of up to 80 kmph during overnight rainfall.
Meteorologists said parts of eastern Bihar may continue to experience thunderstorms accompanied by winds of 40–50 kmph on Sunday, while other regions are likely to see clearer skies.
Rainfall between Friday night and early Saturday was recorded in most districts, except West Champaran, East Champaran and Shivhar.
Officials said the changing weather pattern reflects pre-monsoon activity, with fluctuating temperatures and periodic storms expected over the coming days.
