Raxaul: The North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) has announced a new initiative to address consumer grievances related to electricity services in a time-bound manner.
Under the decision, special grievance redressal camps will be organised at all offices under the Raxaul Electricity Division starting this month. The camps will be held every Monday and Friday with the aim of resolving electricity bill errors and other consumer complaints on the spot.
Electricity Executive Engineer Ajay Kumar said the camps will be conducted from 11 am to 2 pm at all branch offices under the Raxaul Electricity Division. Consumers will be able to visit the camps and register their complaints directly with officials.
During these camps, issues related to electricity bill correction, new connections, problems related to smart prepaid meters, agricultural connections, and applications under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana will be addressed.
Officials said the initiative is aimed at ensuring that consumers do not have to make repeated visits to electricity offices for minor issues. The move is also expected to help speed up revenue collection by resolving billing-related disputes promptly.
The Executive Engineer said most applications received during the camps will be resolved on the spot. However, cases requiring meter inspection or field verification will be addressed within a maximum of three days.
The department has also set a target to clear all pending complaints within the next two months.
To ensure effective monitoring of the initiative, the Senior Manager (Revenue) of each circle has been appointed as the nodal officer for the camps. After each camp, a progress report will be sent to the headquarters.
The local electricity department has appealed to consumers to attend the camps during April and get their electricity-related issues resolved.
