Araria: Work has begun on a major road infrastructure project in Araria, aimed at improving connectivity and supporting local economic activity.
The 35.77km stretch from Jaynagar to Ghurna via Narpatganj is being strengthened at an estimated cost of around Rs 93 crore, officials said.
The upgraded road is expected to significantly ease transportation across the region, particularly benefiting farmers who rely on road networks to transport produce to markets. Improved connectivity to national and state highways is also expected to enhance trade and mobility.
Authorities estimate that nearly five lakh people will directly benefit from the project. The road is being designed with a width of 5.50 metres and will pass through several key locations, linking rural areas with urban centres.
Officials from the state’s road construction department said strict instructions have been issued to ensure there is no compromise on quality. The executing agency has also been directed to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe.
The project is expected to not only reduce travel time but also create new opportunities for business and employment in the region.
Authorities said improved infrastructure would play a crucial role in strengthening the local economy and enhancing access to essential services.
