Patna: The Bihar Public Service Commission has announced a major recruitment drive for aspiring judicial officers in Bihar under the 33rd Judicial Service Examination.
173 vacancies announced
A total of 173 Civil Judge posts will be filled through this recruitment process, with seats allocated across categories including General, EWS, SC, ST, EBC and BC as per reservation norms.
Application process and deadline
The online application process began on February 25, 2026, and candidates were able to submit their forms until March 18, 2026 through the official BPSC website.
Three-stage selection process
Candidates applying for the Civil Judge post must go through a three-stage selection process, including:
- Preliminary examination
- Main examination
- Interview
The preliminary exam is the first stage and mandatory for all applicants. Only those who qualify will be eligible to appear for the main examination. Candidates who clear the mains will be called for the interview, after which the final merit list will be prepared.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must hold an LLB degree from a recognised institution to be eligible for the recruitment.

Candidates were required to register online, fill out the application form, upload necessary documents and pay the prescribed fee to complete the process.
