Patna: Bihar’s political situation has become tense and uncertain as signs of a possible leadership change continue to grow. Political activity has increased in Patna, and discussions inside party circles suggest that important decisions may be taken in the next few days. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started the process of selecting its legislative party leader, which is seen as an important step toward forming or reshaping the state government.
There is growing speculation that the current Chief Minister Nitish Kumar may resign after a cabinet meeting scheduled for April 14. According to reports, if this happens, a new government could be formed quickly, and a swearing-in ceremony may take place on April 15 in Patna. However, there has been no official confirmation yet, and all information remains based on political sources and discussions.
The BJP has appointed senior leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan as the central observer for the selection of its legislative party leader in Bihar. This step shows that the party is actively preparing for a possible leadership change. An official letter issued by party leader Arun Singh confirms this responsibility, given under the instructions of the party’s central leadership.
At the same time, discussions within the NDA alliance suggest that the final decision on the next Chief Minister will be taken through agreement among partner parties. Bihar minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary has indicated that the BJP’s choice will play a key role, but a final name has not yet been decided. Several names are being discussed, but nothing has been officially announced.
Meanwhile, reports say there is movement of personal belongings from the Chief Minister’s residence at 1 Aney Marg to 7 Circular Road. This has added more fuel to political speculation in the state. Earlier, similar changes were seen when Jitan Ram Manjhi took over the top post in 2014. With many developments happening quickly, Bihar’s politics appears to be at an important turning point, and the next two days may decide the future direction of the state.
