Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to hold his final cabinet meeting on April 14 in Patna, marking an important moment in Bihar’s political journey. The meeting will take place at 11am in the Cabinet Hall of the Main Secretariat. After this meeting, he is expected to go to Raj Bhavan Patna to formally submit his resignation as Chief Minister.
This meeting comes after a long gap of 53 days, as no cabinet meetings were held during March. Because of this break, the upcoming session has attracted strong political attention. Many people in the state are closely watching what will happen in this final meeting and whether any important decisions will be announced before the expected resignation.
According to officials, there was earlier talk that a cabinet meeting might be held on 8 April before Nitish Kumar’s visit to Delhi on 9 April. However, no official confirmation was given at that time. Now, the Cabinet Department has clearly announced the 14 April meeting, making it clear that this will be the last cabinet session under his leadership.
Political changes in Bihar now appear to be moving quickly. Nitish Kumar’s recent shift to the Rajya Sabha has already increased talk of a leadership change in the state. The process of forming a new government is expected to begin soon after his resignation, bringing in a new phase of governance for Bihar.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party has started its internal process for selecting its legislative leader in Bihar. The party has appointed Shivraj Singh Chouhan as its central observer to supervise this process. His role will be important in deciding the next chief minister. With these developments, Bihar is clearly heading towards a major political transition.
